Climate Action
PLAYBOOK

The Problem

California Cities are NOT achieving their goals - just making increasingly more aggressive targets.

  • Ambitious goals set
California and the Bay Area have set robust goals to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.

  • But not met
Despite initial efforts, the region and state are not on target to achieve our climate goals (50% emissions reduction by 2030, and carbon neutrality by 2045 or sooner.)

  • Unified strategy lacking: Until now, there has not been a unified regional strategy for accelerating our climate impact to meet these “can’t miss” goals.

The Playbook Offers a Fast Track to Meet Climate Goals

This Playbook was developed by a group professionals who work daily with local governments and recognize the lack of action and frustration in trying to make a difference. The strategies are based on best practices, science and countless studies that detail what needs to be done today.

Playbook Climate Action Strategies

The following action areas focus on climate change strategies that have the potential for the greatest impact for local communities and use the Bay Area Region as the pilot area for the strategies. The regional team is working on implementing these concepts to make them a reality. We anticipate that many if not all of the actions will be applicable at a broader scale.
